Membership FAQ

What can I expect ?

Swinton Running Club try's to cater for all abilities, mixed ages and mixed gender, from those that want to run in a social atmosphere, to those who wish to compete in races.

Our Beginners Group course is very popular with the complete beginner, and with people coming back to running.

How much is it to join ?

Membership for the Swinton Running Club is currently £16 and an a additional £16 for your England Athletics registration fee if you wish to enter races.

How much is it each week ?

We pay a session fee everytime we run from the Club or the Track
  • Sessions from the Club £1.00
  • Sessions from the Track £2.00

Where do you meet ?

The Club meets at Swinton Football Club on Monday and Wednesday at 7:30pm and also on Monday at 7:30pm at the Cleavley Athletic Track.

How fast do you run ?

We cater for all abilities, and normally have three or four groups running on a Wednesday at various distances and pace. These are generally runs of 6 to 8 miles around 8-8:30 minute mile pace or 9-9:30 minute mile pace and runs of between 3.5 to 5 miles at around 10-11 minute mile pace.

All groups will always stop at certain intervals to re-group so no one gets left behind.

The Beginners Group is split into 2 groups, the complete beginners normally start off with run, walk sessions before progressing to the next group that run for around 30 minutes.
