NEWS
As previously mentioned, Barbara decided to step down as membership secretary a couple of months ago after many years in the role. The committee is very grateful for all the work Barbara has done for the club, both as membership secretary and in setting up the very successful beginner sessions.
We are delighted to announce that Jonathan Leech has offered to take over Barbara’s role as membership secretary. Jon is now up and running in the role so please feel free to direct any membership related queries to him. Mel has also decided to step down from the committee (though she’s still running with the club). Again, the committee would like to publicly thank Mel for all the hard work and organisation she has put into her role as social secretary. We’ve had some fabulous social events over the past few years and I personally have had many a headache I can blame on Mel! Dave Halliday was already assisting Mel with the social secretary role and will continue to act in this capacity with the assistance of other members of the club going forwards (further announcements to follow in this respect!) In updating you on the committee, we’ve realised that newer (and maybe even older!) members might not know who we all are and what we do. Your current committee consists of: Steve Doxey: Secretary and Captain. Jenny Castle David Halliday: Social Secretary. Steve Hart: Race Director and Website. Jonathan Leech: Membership Secretary. Lauren Marsden Jon Mellor Rebecca Mills: Ladies’ Captain. Adam Pickup: Kit. Ian Thomas: Treasurer. We meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.45pm. Members are always welcome to come and sit in on meetings and if any member has anything they’d like raised or discussed at a committee meeting, then please let any of us know. We’d also encourage any members who’d like to get more involved with the club to think about joining the committee. As you can see from the list above, we have several committee members who don’t have a specific role and most of the roles we have don’t involve that much work. If anyone is interested in joining, then please feel free to speak to any of us or come along to a meeting to see how we work. Comments are closed.
